How we evaluate

Method before verdict

A useful recommendation does not start with a product. It starts with the right question, makes tradeoffs visible, and respects the limits of available evidence.

1. Define context

We identify who the decision is for, which problem needs solving, what constraints exist, and what would change the choice.

2. Make criteria comparable

We translate specifications and documentation into consequences for use. Priorities follow the need, never commercial convenience.

3. Classify evidence

Official documentation, technical standards, and independent sources remain separate from opinion. Missing evidence becomes an explicit limitation.

4. Publish limitations

A Reason Verdict explains who a choice may fit, who it may not fit, and which tradeoffs remain. Material updates are recorded.
